Vinod K. Dhawan, MD, FACP, FRCP(C), FIDSA

Dr. Dhawan is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Chief of Infectious Diseases at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, and Attending Physician in Infectious Diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He received his M.D. degree in 1972 in India and completed his Internship (1975-76) and Internal Medicine Residency Training (1976-78) at Cook County Hospital, Chicago.  He received Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Cook County Hospital, Chicago (1978-79) and Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles (1979-80).  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Geriatric Medicine, Infection Control and Epidemiology, HIV Medicine, and Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.  He holds Fellowships in the American College of Physicians, Infectious Disease Society of America, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has received several awards for his teaching excellence. He has authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed publications related to his research interests in antimicrobial therapy and infective endocarditis.
